This Water-Cooled Centrifugal Chiller Delivers Energy Savings

The two-stage, oil-free compressor and low-GWP refrigerant are more efficient than a fixed-speed compressor.

The Magnitude WME-D by Daikin Applied is a water-cooled centrifugal chiller with a two-stage, oil-free compressor and low-global warming potential R-515B refrigerant. The compressor and refrigerant together deliver up to 40% more energy savings than units with traditional fixed-speed compressors. The WME-D can provide 250-450 tons of cooling and 3,600-5,300 MBH of heating, eliminating the need for separate heating equipment.

The wide operational envelope allows for multiple functionalities, including free-cooling, inverted duty operation, evaporator leaving water temperatures up to 70 degrees F., condenser entering water temperatures as low as 40 degrees F., and operation down to 10% capacity without the need for hot gas bypass. It also provides the option to control the condenser leaving water for heating, not just cooling, and can achieve temperatures up to 126 degrees F.
